We are currently seeking an experienced Geologist for a FIFO contract opportunity supporting a busy mining operation. This role is ideal for a hands-on geologist who enjoys working closely with drilling programs geological interpretation and operational stakeholders to deliver high-quality orebody information.
About the Role
Working on an 8 days on 6 days off FIFO roster you will be responsible for executing and supervising reverse circulation (RC) drilling programs ensuring drilling activities are completed safely efficiently and in accordance with geological and operational requirements.
This is a contract opportunity commencing in July 2026 with an initial duration through to December 2026. Start and end dates may vary slightly depending on candidate availability and experience.
Key Responsibilities
Execute and supervise predominantly RC drilling programs
Log validate and interpret geological data and drilling results
Monitor drilling progress and ensure activities align with plans and schedules
Ensure drilling contractors meet technical specifications and performance requirements
Coordinate earthworks and site preparation activities ahead of drilling campaigns
Conduct daily workplace inspections and promote a strong safety culture
Report and manage safety-related observations and incidents
Work closely with operational and technical stakeholders to support ore definition activities
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
A tertiary qualification in Geology or Geoscience
Previous experience in exploration resource definition and/or mine geology
Strong geological logging and interpretation skills
Experience working with drill hole databases preferably AcQuire
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Exposure to ArcMap and Vulcan software (highly regarded)
A current C Class Manual Drivers Licence
Strong communication skills and a commitment to safe work practices
