About the Role
We are seeking a reliable practical and hands-on General Assistant to provide operational support across our properties vehicle fleet and office environments.
Based in Bathurst with regular travel to Orange this role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety in their day takes pride in maintaining well-presented and functional spaces and is confident working independently while supporting multiple teams.
Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager you will help ensure our offices vehicles and properties remain safe organised and operational so our staff can focus on delivering quality services to children young people and families.
Key Responsibilities
Some of your core responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking routine property maintenance and minor repairs across offices and properties.
- Coordinating the cleanliness presentation and general upkeep of Veritas House vehicles.
- Assisting with office setups furniture moves workspace reconfigurations and meeting room preparation.
- Receiving storing and distributing deliveries supplies and equipment.
- Supporting teams with practical operational tasks event setups and program requirements.
- Identifying and reporting maintenance issues and liaising with contractors when required.
- Maintaining maintenance registers and assisting with scheduling routine works.
- Operating tools equipment and vehicles safely while adhering to WHS requirements.

About You
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Experience in general maintenance facilities support property upkeep or handyperson duties.
- Ability to safely perform manual handling and physical tasks including lifting moving furniture and equipment setup.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and identifying practical solutions.
- Sound understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles.
- High attention to detail and ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Current drivers licence and willingness to travel between office locations and properties.
Essential Requirements
- Current Drivers Licence
- NSW Working With Children Check
- Satisfactory National Criminal Record Check
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain within 6 weeks of commencement)
- Willingness to undertake a pre-employment health assessment
