About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join our team in Sydney on a permanent or fixed-term basis. This role suits a hands-on senior engineer who is equally comfortable across the front end and back end and who can operate confidently in a cloud-native Agile delivery environment. You will work across the full software development lifecycle building and maintaining scalable web applications using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks alongside Java and Python services deployed on AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Design develop and maintain full-stack web applications using and on the front end and Java and Python on the back end.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs ensuring performance scalability and security.
• Contribute to architecture and design decisions across the front-end and back-end stack.
• Write clean well-tested maintainable code using TypeScript/JavaScript HTML5 and CSS3.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites using frameworks such as Playwright Jest or Cypress.
• Build maintain and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines to support frequent reliable releases.
• Deploy monitor and optimise applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Participate fully in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups sprint planning retrospectives) and collaborate closely with Product Design and QA.
• Use Git/GitHub for source control code review and collaborative development.
• Troubleshoot debug and resolve production issues across the stack.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and code quality standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7 - 12 years of professional software engineering experience in a full-stack capacity.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Python.
• Strong hands-on experience with and .
• Solid command of TypeScript / JavaScript HTML5 and CSS3.
• Proven experience designing and building REST APIs.
• Practical experience with Git/GitHub in a collaborative development environment.
• Experience working within Agile delivery practices (Scrum/Kanban).
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Playwright Jest Cypress or similar.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms particularly AWS.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform CloudFormation CDK).
• Exposure to containerisation and orchestration (Docker Kubernetes).
• Prior experience in a senior or lead engineering capacity.
• Experience in regulated or enterprise-scale environments.
