Title:
Fire ModellerKBR as part of theLinewideAlliance is proud to be awarded the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) EastLinewideAlliance is a city-shaping infrastructure project that will transform how people live and move around Melbourne. The 90km orbital rail line will connect every major train line link key precincts and support vibrant communities. SRL East the first stage will deliver 26km of twin underground tunnels and six new stations between Cheltenham and Box Hill enabling 70000 new homes near public transport jobs schools and services. It will create diverse accessible communities shaped by local input with upgraded open space bike paths and essential infrastructure.
The AlliancecomprisingJohn Holland Alstom RATP DEC WSP and KBR will deliver TheLinewidepackage of works which includes tunnelfit-outs rolling stock and construction of depot and maintenance facilities. This package is critical to safe efficient train operations and long-term performance across SRL East.
KBR alongside WSP as Designer Non-Owner Participant is leading comprehensive design services and contributing to alliance management. Our infrastructure design scope includes track overhead line equipment drainage and overland flow civil works tunnel portals buildingstructuresand services HV and LV power systems cable containment systemsintegrationand safety assurance ensuring seamless delivery across the corridor.
TheOpportunity:
KBRhavean exciting opportunity for a Fire Designer to join our Buildings team in Melbourne. This is a key role in the business anda great opportunityfor someone looking to join a global company and take the next big step in their career. You will be heavily involved in a range of infrastructure projects focusing on the design and modeling of hydraulic and fire service systems.
This role works under general supervision as a technical specialist and performs all conventional aspects of hydraulic design while also devisingnew approachesto problemsencountered. You will have an opportunity to plan schedule and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluationselection and adaptation of engineering techniques procedures and criteria.
Who are you
Werelooking for someone with:
- Experience in hydraulic and/or fire modelling or a similar role in the building services industry.
- Proficiencyin Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and relevant Australian codes and standards.
- Ability to produce drawings/models with minimal supervision.
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects is highly regarded.
- Familiarity with Navisworks ACC andRevizto.
- Knowledge of PDF software tools such as Bluebeam or PDF Exchange.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
