Job Description Summary
We are seeking a Financial Accountant Treasury to join our Group Finance team in a permanent role based out of our Collins Street office supporting hybrid working arrangements.

This role plays a key part in supporting treasury and financial accounting activities ensuring compliance with accounting standards strong financial controls and the integrity of the balance sheet. Youll work closely with the wider finance and tax teams to contribute to accurate audit-ready financial reporting.

About the Role

This role offers an opportunity to build your experience across treasury and financial accounting within a collaborative Group Finance team. Youll support key processes that ensure accurate reporting strong financial controls and a reliable audit-ready balance sheet.

Treasury

  • Prepare and maintain bank reconciliations
  • Manage cash transactions including unmatched receipts and transfers
  • Perform intercompany and bank transfers
  • Manage cash retention balances
  • Post interest and financing journals
  • Prepare treasury-related balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of banking platforms
  • Support the coordination of treasury-related financial instruments

Financial Accounting

  • Prepare and post accurate and supportable journals
  • Assist with month-end close activities
  • Review financial results and investigate variances and mispostings
  • Prepare detailed balance sheet reconciliations
  • Investigate and resolve unidentified or aged balances
  • Identify financial risks and escalate where required
  • Produce financial reports and analysis for stakeholders
  • Support process improvements and maintain documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance

Skills and experience

  • Strong Excel skills (essential)
  • Solid understanding of financial accounting and reconciliation processes
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication with the ability to engage stakeholders
  • Process improvement mindset

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a finance or accounting role
  • CA/CPA qualified or studying (highly regarded)
