As a Field Service Technician youll play a key role in keeping our innovative Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) and bulk processing systems operating at peak performance across Sydney.
This hands-on role focuses on automation diagnostics and equipment performance working with advanced technologies including ultrasonic sensors conveyors automated pneumatic sorting systems communication networks and control systems. Youll troubleshoot issues perform preventative maintenance and help ensure our technology delivers a seamless recycling experience for customers and communities.
This field-based role involves daily travel to customer sites so a valid drivers licence maintaining a good driver history and willingness to travel are essential.
This is a highly autonomous role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving working independently and taking ownership of outcomes. The position operates on a rotating roster that includes one in three weekends.
Background checks for this role include a driver history report police check references and pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing.
Work van etag fuel card laptop mobile phone and all work tools are supplied.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and servicing on TOMRAs automated recycling equipment
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical electrical automation sensor and communication system issues
- Install and commission Reverse Vending Machines and bulk processing systems at new customer sites
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve uptime and reliability
- Complete service reports and document maintenance activities and fault resolutions
- Deliver exceptional customer service and technical support to site partners
- Collaborate with internal teams to support continuous product and process improvements
- Conduct routine inspections cleaning and upkeep to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
Qualifications :

- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining automated mechanical electrical or industrial equipment
- A good understanding of how software and hardware integrate
- Good network diagnostic skills
- Excellent mechanical skills with an eye for detail
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to fault-finding
- Confidence working independently in a field-based environment
- Excellent communication reporting and customer service skills
- A valid drivers licence and willingness to travel throughout your service area
- Experience with electronic PCBs and connectors motors (AC DC Stepper Single and 3 phase) conveyor systems ultrasonic sensors canbus systems automation systems pneumatic systems wireless and wired communication technologies or related equipment is highly regarded
