We have an exciting temporary opportunity to join the EPA as a Field Operations Officer in our Regulatory Operations this role you undertake diverse day-to-day tasks relating to the application of EPA legislative responsibilities in assigned regulatory area/s involving major issues affecting the environment and activities relating to other regulatory functional areas as required by EPA operational priorities.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

• Demonstrated experience applying environmental legislation and regulatory tools in complex compliance environments
• Strong investigate skills including evidence gathering preparing briefs recommending enforcement action and appearing as a witness where required
• Experience responding to environmental incidents and complaints with the ability to manage changing priorities and participate in the after hours incident response
• Sound knowledge of licensing permitting and planning process and the ability to contribute to licence drafting review and compliance activities
• Well developed analytical and problem-solving skills to assess environmental performance and recommend practical evidence based regulatory responses to improve environmental outcomes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with industry government and the community while maintaining professional and public confidence.

The Field Operations Metro Branch sits within our Regulatory Operations Division. The branch delivers environmental regulatory programs and compliance operations across Metropolitan Sydney to protect air water land and community health.
