About the role

The Facilities Operations Officer coordinates and administers technical services across Council-owned buildings and facilities ensuring safe efficient operations that support community and business activities.

The role delivers high-quality customer service and manages operational financial administration specifically invoice and payment processing in line with Council systems service standards and financial obligations.

This role will balance work requirements and daily priorities within Councils flexible workplace policies.

On a daily basis you will:

  • Use Council financial and asset systems to process invoices payments and purchase orders maintaining accurate auditable records.
  • Coordinate statutory building compliance administration in line with Council service standards and financial controls.
  • Support investigation and resolution of property-related matters.
  • Assist with property transactions including asset capitalisation where required.

About You

Youre a facilities professional with strengths in administration who enjoys coordinating building services and contractors to keep community and business facilities running safely and efficiently. You bring a customer-focused approach sound judgement and the ability to balance competing priorities.

You will also bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in building construction a relevant trade or a related discipline or a significant amount of comparable industry experience
  • Strong operational financial administration skills with the ability to process invoices and purchase orders accurately on time and in line with internal controls.
  • Experience in facilities administration coordinating building services and contractors in busy environments.
  • Confidence using asset/financial systems and MS Office to maintain precise auditable records.
  • Strong communication and organisation skills to manage stakeholders deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of site safety risk management and compliance.
