Job Summary
Rising Sun Hotel is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team. This is a great opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional who takes pride in preparing high-quality meals and contributing to a busy hotel kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cook and present meals in line with the hotels menu and quality standards.
- Ensure food is prepared fresh safely and consistently for customers.
- Assist with menu planning specials and seasonal food offerings.
- Maintain high standards of food presentation portion control and kitchen hygiene.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Ensure all food safety health and hygiene regulations are followed.
- Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
- Train and support junior kitchen staff where required.
- Maintain a clean organised and efficient workstation.
- Assist with managing food costs wastage and kitchen productivity.

Required Skills:
AQF Certificate III in Baking or equivalent qualification OR minimum 35 years relevant commercial baking experience At least 2 years post-qualification or equivalent industry experience Proven experience in artisan and commercial bread production Strong understanding of dough fermentation baking processes and quality control Ability to work early mornings weekends and under pressure Reliable punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.
