About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join Councils Economic Development and Tourism team and play a key role in the planning coordination and delivery of major events and activations across the Cessnock Local Government Area.

As the Events Lead you will be responsible for leading the delivery of Councils flagship events including the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival and the development and delivery of a new major event for Cessnock. You will also support a range of Council-led activations provide advice and assistance to external event organisers and contribute to projects that strengthen the regions event capability and visitor economy.

Working closely with internal teams community groups event organisers tourism operators and industry stakeholders you will coordinate event planning logistics stakeholder engagement compliance budgeting and evaluation to ensure successful event outcomes. The role also provides operational support for initiatives such as the development of a Cessnock Event Toolkit an audit of event sites and infrastructure and implementation of actions that support Councils Economic Development Roadmap and Citywide Event Strategy.

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced events professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across multiple projects. With strong event delivery stakeholder engagement logistics and risk management skills you will build productive relationships and deliver high-quality events that create positive outcomes for the community local businesses and visitors.

Remuneration

$99099 - $113964 per annum plus superannuation
