In our optimized CIP Platform CIP Terra Technologies a project delivery company delivering projects from onshore wind solar PV and battery energy storage systems to bioenergy thermal and transmission infrastructure iscurrently looking for a EPC director to join the team in Melbourne Australia.
Team
The selected candidate will become part of the growing CIPTT team with offices across Melbourne Newcastle Sydney & Brisbane. The team currently consists of 25 employees with renewable energy CIPTT team in Australia is delivering some of the largest renewable energy projects in Australia across BESS onshore wind and pumped hydro.
Role
We are looking for an EPC Director to manage key construction activities on a major (400MW) onshore wind and BESS project in Queensland through the final stages of development through construction and to COD. The project is in the final stages of development will have a 34-year construction period. This is a key role in the construction project organization reporting to the Project CEO and responsible for the integrated delivery of all construction-stage contracts from FID to COD ensuring quality across multiple parallel packages. The role is responsible for coordinating and managing interfaces between contractors and work packages ensuring alignment across programme scope boundaries and execution methodologies. The EPC Director will directly oversee package and interface managers to ensure delivery of the project on schedule within budget and in compliance with quality and HSE standards.
The EPC Director is not permanently site-based but is expected to maintain a clear and visible on-site presence during critical phases providing leadership across contractors critical interfaces and delivery functions to mitigate programme interface risks. The EPC Director is accountable for construction execution during late development and construction contractor performance delivery against schedule cost baseline multi-contractor interface coordination and early management of programme and interface risks.
Responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to:
Leadership:
The EPC Director is a key role within the projects leadership team:
- Set up and lead the EPC project organization with employees from both internal and external companies
- Establish and embed a clear interface governance framework defining roles responsibilities and escalation pathways across all construction contracts
- Ensure everyone in the EPC project team understands the projects requirements and objectives
- Improve performance productivity and issue resolution
- Establish highest performance and safety culture
Delivery & Execution:
- Oversee all engineering and design activities ensuring alignment with operational requirements and robust interface definition and management across all project packages
- Ensure procurement activities are based on engineering inputs and manage procurement interfaces jointly with the Procurement Director
- Oversee site investigations early works and construction/installation activities ensuring delivery on time and within budget
- Ensure all construction activities meet the highest HSE and ESG standards
- Drive QA/QC commissioning and ensure a smooth documented handover to operations including SCADA/IT access
Contractor Management:
- Manage the integrated project management team and owners engineer teams and contracts ensuring alignment with project targets and risk profile
- Ensure all key suppliers deliver the scope under the various project agreementswith clear alignment across contract boundaries and interface obligations
- Ensure all supplier contracts are managed and that claims and disputes are progressed and resolved
- Coordinate supplier and service provider communication during construction ensuring alignment across interfaces sequencing of works and collaborative delivery between contractors
- Manage interface management across multiple construction contracts ensuring contractors work cohesively and that interface risks are identified allocated and actively managed
- Resolve cross-contractor conflicts and scope gaps to maintain progress against the construction schedule undefined.
Stakeholder Interface & Reporting:
- Ensure transparent EPC reporting in collaboration with other team functions covering progress schedule float risks asset integrity HSE ESG contractor claims and improvement areas undefined.
You
We are looking for an experienced individual holding a relevant engineering degree or similar and a minimum of 10 years of full-time experience. Demonstrated experience in complex infrastructure project construction with comparable responsibilities. Renewable energy experience will be viewed positively.

- Effective execution focus with the ability to advance progress and manage risks effectively
- Deep understanding of CAPEX-intensive infrastructure project delivery
- Ability to balance lifetime cost asset performance and risk in decision-makingSkilled in stakeholder coordination and cross-functional alignment
- Effective communication and presentation skills for internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in managing engineering procurement and construction interfaces
