EOI Team Leader Arborist

This role contributes to the success of the City by leading crews in the Arboricultural Services unit to undertake tree removal and pruning works on the Citys trees while continually monitoring reviewing and improving safety arboricultural practice and efficient work program delivery.

Role accountabilities include:

• Assisting the Supervisor in providing leadership and direction within the Arboricultural Services unit including the use of appropriate human and physical resources services from other business units and external resources in an efficient and effective manner.
• Developing and maintaining a cohesive work team that contributes to the City of Hobarts corporate goals and supports a positive public image of Council.
• Implementing and promoting Councils Workplace Health and Safety Policy OHS procedures and legislative requirements.
• Supporting continuous improvement in work practices procedures and the maintenance of tree assets.
• Assisting with the delivery of proactive and reactive works programs for the Arboricultural Services unit.
• Maintaining professional relationships with the general public contractors customers and other relevant stakeholders.

We are looking for an experienced arboriculture professional who can lead by example work safely and support a cohesive team environment.

You will bring extensive knowledge of arboriculture proven ability to supervise and lead a team and experience working across a broad range of environments including bushland gardens streets reserves and high-profile public spaces.

You will be confident working to planned projects where deadlines and problem solving are critical and you will have the ability to support operational plans and project outcomes through the effective use of people equipment and resources.

To be successful in this role you will hold a Certificate III in Arboriculture (or equivalent) together with demonstrated experience in tree pruning and removal works including tree climbing and elevated work platform (EWP) operations.

You will also possess the required licences and certifications relevant to the role including a Medium Rigid Driver Licence First Aid White Card and relevant traffic management EWP and working at heights competencies.
