Environmental Services Assistant

Your role at St John of God Berwick Hospital

We are seeking Casual Environmental Services Assistants (ESA) to join our team.

The Environmental Services Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring all hospital areas are cleaned and maintained to agreed standards contributing to the comfort safety and wellbeing of patients visitors and staff.

Shifts are rostered from 8:00am to 2:30pm across weekdays and weekends. Applications will be reviewed as they are received with opportunities available over the next six months as positions become vacant.

The Position

• Cleaning of Patient Rooms in accordance with cleaning checklist including bed tables rubbish disposal hand basins toilets and bed linen.

• Cleaning of Operating Theatres recovery rooms and amenities including cleaning sinks benchtops ledges doors and walls pendant lights vents to agreed standards and in accordance with cleaning checklists.

• Maintain and ensure the cleanliness of administration reception and consulting suites areas. Vacuum and mop floors as required.

• Empty all bins throughout the relevant areas and replace with liners.

• Clean staff toilets and restock paper products.

• Replenish supplies such as toilet paper sanitary napkin bags. Supply clean linen.

You will have a basic knowledge of and experience with chemical usage cleaning equipment and WHS requirements along with a well-presented approach and strong commitment to hygiene standards particularly in relation to infection control principles.

To succeed you will demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships along with initiative motivation and confidence in your approach.

We will offer you

• Salary $33.40 to $34.76 per hour (casual loading included) plus 12% superannuation
