About the role
We currently have two roles for experienced Engineering Technical Leads to join the Operations Planning team. These are critical operational lead roles which will provide leadership and expert technical operational advice in ensuring the security and reliability of the National Electricity Market and the power system. These roles will provide expert technical operational advice develop plans and procedures for the electricity control rooms manage small to medium size projects and manage a small to medium size team.
What you will be doing
- Provide expert analytical/technical input related to the preparation of operational analysis advice and instructions to AEMOs electricity control rooms.
- Review the provision of short-term reserve assessment to ensure timely publication of relevant accurate information.
- Provide analytical input/expertise/preparation into working groups/consultations/projects/technical reports/documentation.
- Manage small to medium-sized projects autonomously mentor and support technical team members when required.
- The successful candidate may be required to assist in both after hours and/or some duty manager role as appropriate.
What you will bring to the role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline or work experience.
- Understanding of the power system and data management/analytical tools/automated solutions/IT systems with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve technical problems is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage a team of professional engineers/technical experts over a range of operational issues.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and written in a clear accurate and concise manner.
- Project management skills including management of timelines resources risks and forward mitigation measures.
