Engineering Manager - Renewable Energy Portfolio

About the Employer
Our client is an infrastructure engineering and construction contractor delivering transport civil and energy projects. Its teams work across design construction and project delivery in Australia.

The Opportunity
Provide technical authority across a national portfolio of utility-scale solar wind and battery energy projects. Melbourne is the preferred base with Sydney also considered. Reporting to the renewables sector lead you will oversee engineering from early concept and FEED through technology selection grid integration and commissioning.

Your Responsibilities
Coordinate electrical high-voltage civil structural and automation engineering disciplines.
Lead FEED and engineering deliverables across clean energy developments and EPC contracts.
Review technologies supplier specifications and design proposals for inverters batteries and other major equipment.
Work with power systems specialists AEMO and network providers on grid studies generator performance standards and registration.
Provide bid teams with constructability reviews value engineering and technical inputs.
Direct external consultants to maintain design quality safe design and delivery schedules.

Requirements
Skills Education and Requirements
A degree in electrical renewable energy mechanical or civil engineering; CPEng or RPEQ is highly regarded.
At least eight years of engineering leadership on utility-scale solar wind or BESS under EPC or design-and-construct models.
Expertise in photovoltaic design battery architecture HV substations turbines and balance of plant.
Detailed understanding of NEM connections AEMO generator registration and grid requirements.
Ability to assess complex packages manage technical risks and achieve cost-effective engineering outcomes.
