About the role
TheEngineering Developer Servicesteam (EDS)is responsible forthe support and development of tools used by AEMO and market participant power system engineers to model the electricity networkanalyse planned outagesanalyse faultsandplan for the futurenetwork. The EDS teamoperatesat the intersection of power systems engineering software development data and advanced analytics delivering be-spoke tools that influence the national energy strategy and operational decision making. This is an opportunity to work oncuttingedgehightechsystems that help shape the transition to a secure reliable and sustainable electricity market supporting decarbonisation goals whilemaintainingsystem strength and resilience.
This isa 12-month fixed term contract and can be performed from multiple locations.
What you will be doing
- Write enterprise quality code (SQL Python )
- Collaboratewith Power System Engineers to re-write existing Python based power system analysis tools to an enterprise standard sothat they are robust use best practice coding methods and are compatible with the AEMO in-house platform on which they will be hosted.
- Collaborating with Power System Engineers to add new functionality to Python based power system analysis tools.
- Champion a culture of customer support userexperienceand software quality
- Advocate for process improvements where opportunities areobserved.
What you will bring to the role
- Energysector experience is desirable but not essential.
- Experience with Python QA tooling coverage;version control software (such as git)
- Test driven development.
- Experience in developing graphical user interfaces using is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in power system analysis and grid systems technologies (e.g. DERMS SCADA) is beneficial.
