The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for a full-time Electrician to join our Mackay based team.

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor this role will be responsible for the installation commissioning maintenance testing and fault finding of electrical equipment across both workshop and site-based projects.

This position is ideally suited to a qualified Electrician with strong industrial or mining experience who enjoys a hands-on role takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Electrician your responsibilities will include:

  • Interpreting electrical schematics and project scopes of work.
  • Performing control and power wiring of electrical equipment.
  • Fault finding testing and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Carrying out electrical installation and maintenance work in both workshop and site environments.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely on time and within budget.
  • Maintaining and calibrating testing equipment.
  • Completing service reports service sheets and progress updates.
  • Liaising with clients supervisors project teams and other stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are achieved.
  • Maintaining equipment machinery and tooling in a safe and serviceable ondition.
  • Working in accordance with WHS requirements SWMS risk assessments nd company procedures.
  • Providing exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
  • Assisting with project delivery across a range of mining and industrial applications.

About You

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Electrical Trade Qualification (Electrician).
  • Current Electrical Licence
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar industrial mining or commercial electrical role.
  • Current White Card.
  • Sound knowledge of AS3000 Wiring Rules and electrical installation standards.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities.
  • Experience interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • The ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Sound computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as Pronto (highly regarded).
  • Work Safely at Heights and Hazardous Area competencies (highly regarded).
  • Willingness to undertake occasional site travel as required.
