Duration: Approx. 12 months with potential to extend

Pay rate: Rates negotiable dependent on skills and experience

Requirements: Must be an Australian citizen at the time of application. Demonstrated enterprise storage engineering experience in large complex ICT environments is essential.

Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced EL1 Senior Infrastructure Storage Engineer to join their ICT Operations Branch. This role sits within the Infrastructure Platforms team which is responsible for managing enterprise data centres server infrastructure virtualisation automation storage backup and recovery services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying configuring administering and optimising enterprise storage platforms across physical and virtual environments. You will also manage Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure contribute to the future direction of the departments storage technologies produce technical documentation mentor junior engineers and provide after-hours on-call support as part of the infrastructure team.

Design deploy configure and administer enterprise storage systems across physical and virtual environments.
Manage and optimise Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure and storage platforms.
Deploy configure and maintain SAN switches and associated infrastructure.
Monitor troubleshoot and tune storage systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Produce high-quality design build operational and handover documentation.
Evaluate and recommend emerging storage technologies to support future infrastructure capability.
Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver infrastructure projects and operational outcomes.
Provide technical leadership mentoring and knowledge sharing to junior team members.
Participate in the teams after-hours on-call support roster.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of enterprise storage and data platform services.

Demonstrated experience designing administering tuning and troubleshooting one or more of the following enterprise storage technologies:

• HPE 3PAR
• HPE Primera
• HPE Alletra Storage
• NetApp E-Series
• Dell Data Domain
• Brocade Fabric Switches
• SANnav
• Scality Artesca

Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication.
Ability to produce technical design build and operational documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical stakeholders.
Experience presenting technical information and mentoring team members.
Strong problem-solving skills with experience supporting enterprise ICT infrastructure in complex environments.
Knowledge of emerging storage technologies and best practices.
