About the Role

St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Duty Technician to join our Events team on a casual basis. As the lead technical officer on duty you will deliver the technical operation of College events and productions ensuring our performing arts venues operate safely efficiently and to a professional standard. This is an exciting casual opportunity for an experienced theatre or production technician who enjoys a hands-on role in a dynamic events environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical delivery of events productions and performances across College venues.
  • Configure and operate professional lighting audio vision and staging systems.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide on-the-spot solutions during events.
  • Coordinate venue set-up changeovers and restoration to maintain operational readiness.
  • Provide technical support guidance and venue inductions for performers hirers and production teams.
  • Maintain safe work practices and contribute to equipment maintenance reporting and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

  • A relevant tertiary degree qualification in Theatre Production Creative Industries or a related discipline and/or extensive relevant industry experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of theatre production lighting audio audiovisual and staging systems.
  • Experience in a similar role with knowledge of live event delivery venue operations and technical production environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to the Colleges Christian ethos and values
