- Permanent Part Time - 4 days per week

- Paid under the SCHADS Award Level 4:1 - $46.70 per/hour
About the role
The Alcohol and Other Drugs Caseworker / Group facilitator will provide practical assistance and support to clients exiting from Correctional facilities and/or Alcohol and Other Drugs inpatient and rehabilitation units.
The caseworker will have a primary role in providing case management and facilitating AOD groups developing and monitoring individual case plans. These plans will include building family and community linkages and assistance with achieving daily living skills and better outcomes.
This position will facilitate AOD groups and to address criminal behaviours. The position will promote encourage facilitate and support effective information provision and referral to recovery activities which support and/or assist clients to maintain their wellbeing.
The worker will be part of a close-knit team that provides a range of different post care supports and services for clients that have left residential day rehabilitation programs or correctional centres.
The position will assist to secure suitable accommodation employment education and training opportunities accessing Centrelink social housing and Parole. A major focus of the role is around addressing potential social isolation.
This is a fast-paced person-centred approach environment that requires caseworkers to be flexible with an ability to adapt to changing situations as every day is different.

QUALIFICATIONS/ ESSENTIALS
Tertiaryqualifications inDrug and Alcohol counselling community services and/ordemonstratedexperience
A commitment to and understandingofthe principles and practice of cultural competence.
Well-developedwritten verbal and communication skills.
A demonstrated experience ability to engage and work with people and families who have drug and alcohol issues
Demonstrated understanding of casework practice including case managementassessmentand preparation of case plans
The successful applicant willpossess or willingness to obtain the following: NSW Working with Children Check NDIS Worker Screening Check Drivers Licence Senior First Aid & CPR certificate and undertake a pre-employment functional medical National Police Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes).
