About the Role
Were seeking dedicatedDisability Support Workers to join our supportive teams in the following locations.
Mount Colah
Epping
Hornsby
Normanhurst
Wahroonga
Eastwood
Asquith
Ryde
Cherrybrook
Marsfield
In this role youll assist a group of clients with various disabilities and daily support needs who live together in a shared home. Youll be a key part of helping them achieve greater independence and wellbeing in their daily lives. Operating under the active support model the role involves support with all activities of daily living including psychosocial support physical support support maintaining their household support maintaining health and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliveringactivesupport aligned with each clients goals and support plans
- Supporting with daily living activities in their home including cooking and cleaning
- Assisting with daily personal care tasks (e.g. toileting showering dressing)
- Using safe manual handling techniques in accordance with individual plans
- Facilitating community access and transport using Unisson vehicles or public transport
- Building trusted relationships with clients familiesand external stakeholders
- Maintaining accurate documentation reportsand records
- Working collaboratively within a close-knit team
- Responding appropriately to incidents in line with Unisson and NDIS guidelines
WhoWereLooking For
- Willing to work active night& sleepovershifts weekends and public holidays
- Experience with high complex needs clients including PEG/PEJ and CPAP is highly desirable
- Hold a valid NSW DriversLicence(P2/full) and are confident driving Unisson vehicles which include large cars or vans
- Energetic compassionate and emotionally resilient
- Experienced in disability support (preferred)
- Qualified with Cert III/IV in Disability (desirable)
