About the role
This is a rewarding role supporting clients to live independently while promoting choice and meaningful community participation. Our clients enjoy active lifestyles including regular swimming gym sessions and attending community events. We are looking for a Disability Support Worker who is proactive about encouraging and organising these activities.
This position requires flexibility to work across multiple Supported Independent Living programs in North Brisbane including Redcliffe Windsor and Deception Bay. Working a variety of shifts including split shifts morning afternoon and sleepovers.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Access and Participation confidence in active support and engaging in community events.
- Supporting clients with mental health needs
- Delivering social and behavioural support that promotes independence confidence and positive outcomes.
- Assisting with daily living tasks personal care (where required)
- Weekday and weekend support morning afternoon and evening shifts.
Skills & Experience
- Current unrestricted drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009)
- Experience supporting people with mental health conditions
- A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs skills abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities
