We provide advocacy information and education services that empower people to understand their rights have their voices heard and achieve fair outcomes.

About the Opportunity

Were seeking a Disability Advocate to provide information support and advocacy to people with disability their families and carers.

This is a full-time fixed-term opportunity until 30 June 2027.

Youll work directly with clients experiencing issues relating to disability services discrimination abuse neglect decision-making complaints access to supports and navigating complex systems including the NDIS.

In this role you will:

• Support clients to understand and exercise their rights
• Advocate for individuals experiencing barriers or disadvantage
• Assist clients to navigate disability services and systems including the NDIS
• Build relationships with community organisations and stakeholders
• Represent ADA Australia at community events and forums

About You

Youre passionate about social justice and empowering people to have their voices heard.

You will bring:

• Qualifications in human services social work behavioural science community services and/or equivalent experience
• Experience working with or supporting people with disability or other vulnerable groups
• Strong communication advocacy and relationship-building skills
• Sound judgement problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Strong administrative and computer skills including experience using client management systems

Essential Requirements

• Valid Australian Driver Licence
• Current (less than three years old) National Criminal History Certificate
• Valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
• Valid Working with Children Blue Card
