Were looking for people across the Department of Planning Housing and Infrastructure to express interest in a Director Policy opportunity within Crown Lands and Public Spaces.

This is a role where youll help shape how Crown land is managed and used across NSW. Youll lead a team working on complex and often sensitive issues where decisions need to balance economic community and environmental outcomes. Its a space where stakeholder views can differ information isnt always clear and strong judgement matters. Youll work closely with senior leaders and the Ministers Office providing clear practical advice while building trust and credibility.

Youll lead policy reform and legislative initiatives driving priorities under Crown land 2031 and making sure delivery stays on track and delivers real value. Working across teams agencies and stakeholders youll help design practical solutions contribute to whole-of-government work and keep momentum across a busy reform agenda.

About you

Youre an experienced policy leader whos delivered complex reform in government or similar environments. You bring strong judgement work confidently in ambiguity and know how to navigate competing stakeholder views. You communicate clearly build trusted relationships and lead teams to deliver practical outcomes that align to government priorities.

Essential requirements

• Extensive experience in driving the implementation of policy and legislative reforms.
• Leadership in complex policy legal and governance environment in Government.
