About the Position
TheCommission aims to be at the forefront of contemporary Tribunalservice delivery in Australia.
Reporting tothe Executive Director Tribunal Support the Director MemberSupport will provide strategic leadership and oversight of a teamof over 80 staff including Associates and a management team whichprovide support in Chambers to Members of the Commission acrossAustralia.
Workingclosely with the Member Support management team and senior staffacross the Commission the Director will:
- Regularly engage across other Tribunals Courts and agencies to develop relationships and leverage insights to set operational and strategic objectives for the Member Support team.
- Establish lead and deliver a yearly work program in consultation with Commission Members and the Member Support team to enable best practice procedures and operations in Chambers for Members Associates and the Australian public.
- Oversee a program of targeted and proactive recruitment practices to ensure the teams capacity to provide service to Members and the Australian public.
The Directorwill also translate strategy into operational goals and standardscreate plans provide expert advice make decisions based onprofessional judgement and have demonstrated experience inachieving results and leading business process improvementinitiatives.
Duties
- Provide high quality administrative support to the President Commission Members the General Manager and the Executive team including preparation and presentation of memorandums information notes briefs and regular data and evidence-based reports.
- Oversee program and project management including management of service provider contracts setting strategy planning and successfully implementing and evaluating projects and programs.
- Initiate establish and maintain strong internal and external relationships to drive consultation and collaboration with key stakeholders and provide performance feedback to enhance service quality accessibility and responsiveness.
- Manage financial human and physical resources in an operationally effective and efficient manner including resolving conflict and managing sensitivities.
- Actively contribute and participate in the Commissions Senior Management Group and the Branch leadership team as well as corporate management and related statutory responsibilities including strategic planning reporting corporate and budgetary responsibilities and providing input into key Commission and Branch publications.
- Monitor and report on the Commissions authorising environment and service delivery issues.
- Build staff capabilities by providing leadership to team members including setting the strategic direction using data and evidence driven approaches for improvement and anticipating and establishing work priorities and managing performance.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Executive Director Tribunal Support.
