About the role:

International Career Opportunity Australia Rombola Family Farms is seeking passionate and driven Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join our team in Australia Mataranka NT Douglas-Daly NT and Griffith NSW. The Diesel Motor Mechanic will report to the Engineering Manager and play a crucial role in ensuring that farm machinery is running smoothly and efficiently. This is a permanent full-time position.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repairs. You should be able to work independently and be able to troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively.

Key operational accountabilities include:

  • Conducting regular maintenance checks on all farm machinery.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues.
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts.
  • Performing routine servicing and oil changes.
  • Carry out tyre fitting inspection repair and replacement on heavy diesel machinery and fleet vehicles including fault identification and ensuring all work meets safety and operational requirements.
  • Ensuring all machinery is operating safely and efficiently.

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Experience working as a diesel mechanic preferably with farm machinery.
  • A strong understanding of diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to working with heavy machinery.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • A willingness to work flexible hours during peak periods.
