In this full-time permanent role youll work as a part of our Domestic Violence team in Mount Isa/Gulf and surrounds to help us create lasting change for children everywhere. Weve advertised this role as full-time but if youre looking for something different please let us know.

You will make a difference by:

• Providing holistic case management delivering support to vulnerable and disadvantaged clients and supporting relationships
• Identifying strengths establishing goals for the program and reviewing client progress
• Promoting skills which increase health safety and development
• Ensuring the voices of children and young people are heard
• Enhancing stakeholder relationships and partnerships with the view of providing clients with support that will help them to address their needs
• Working collaboratively within a small team to deliver best practice to women and children who are experiencing DFV

Youre an experienced child and adolescent practitioner who is passionate about supporting families within a child centred strengths-based framework. Importantly you have a strong understanding of the impact of trauma on children and their families and youre keenly aware of the additional impacts and barriers experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families

This role requires:

• Minimum 3-year tertiary qualification in Counselling Psychology Social Work or related field
• Eligibility for membership with either AASW ACA AHPRA or PACFA (membership not required - just evidence that you would meet their eligibility requirements)
• Demonstrated experience in case management and knowledge of relevant legislation
• Knowledge and previous experience working in the Domestic and Family Violence or closely related human services context
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and families
• Strong report writing analytical and evaluation skills including data collection and analysis
