Project Info
The Wave Stage 1 will deliver 19km of dual-track heavy rail between Beerwah and Caloundra connecting the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane for the first time. ACCIONA as part of the CoastalTraX consortium is delivering design and pre-construction works ahead of major construction from mid-2027 supporting the regions growth and the Brisbane 2032 Games.
About Opportunity
Reporting to the Engineering Manager youll establish and manage cost planning through design and into delivery for The Wave Stage 1. Youll set up cost plans against the project work breakdown structure run quantity take-offs at each design stage and flag risks and opportunities early. Working closely with engineering commercial and procurement teams youll help shape value-for-money outcomes and keep the project team informed through clear accurate reporting.
Key accountabilities for the position will be:
- Manage cost planning using master cost plan documents
- Set up cost plans against the Package Work Breakdown Structure
- Run quantity take-offs at each design stage against tender quantities
- Flag risks and opportunities early in design
- Support procurement on value-for-money solutions
- Deliver clear cost reports and monthly forecasts
- Partner with Digital Engineering on 5D cost planning and automated take-offs
Required Skills and Competencies
What capability & experience will you ideally need to have:
- Quantity Surveying degree MRICS or equivalent preferred
- Experience in infrastructure cost planning and estimating
- Background on major rail transport or civil projects
- Strong knowledge of 3D/5D cost planning tools
- Construction Induction (White Card) and current driver licence
