About the role

Were seeking a friendly and motivated Casual Dental Assistant to join our Mermaid Beach practice. This role is ideal for someone looking to kickstart their career in the dental industry gain hands on experience and learn from a supportive and experienced clinical team.

The role offers consistent weekday hours with full days Monday to Thursday and a shorter Friday finishing around lunchtime. Theres flexibility built in too including the opportunity to take leave during school holidays or pick up additional shifts with other dentists or practices across our network.

Following probation there is the opportunity to commence a Dental Assisting traineeship fully supported by Coastal Dental Care.

What youll be doing

Assisting dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures

Preparing treatment rooms instruments and materials

Supporting sterilisation and reprocessing in line with infection prevention and control standards

Welcoming comforting and supporting patients throughout their visit

Maintaining clean organised and well stocked clinical areas

Assisting with basic administrative or reception tasks as required

What were looking for

Essential

A genuine interest in starting or building on a career in the dental industry

Some experience or knowledge of infection prevention and control (healthcare dental or similar)

A caring professional and patient focused approach

Strong reliability attention to detail and willingness to learn

Up to date immunisations (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred (but not required)

Previous dental or healthcare experience

Interest in completing a Certificate III in Dental Assisting (traineeship)

Confidence working as part of a close knit fast paced team
