Demi Chef Qantas Lounges

As a Demi Chef you will support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations while ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. This is a great opportunity for a motivated culinary professional looking to advance their career.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items to high standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your work station
• Ensure food safety hygiene and WHS standards are followed at all times
• Support stock control ordering and minimisation of wastage
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team during service
• Step up in the absence of senior chefs when required

Qualifications :

• Previous experience in a similar role or as a Commis Chef
• Relevant culinary qualification (Cert III/IV in Commercial Cookery preferred)
• Experience with fine-dining presentation and cooking styles across all sections (cold larder pans fryer).
• Experience working in a HACCP environment with strong understanding of food safety compliance.
• Ability to adhere to portion control food waste and production procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and passion for food
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Flexible availability including evenings weekends and public holidays
