Telstras looking for a Database Administrator with some experience to join a small highly technical team supporting critical government this role youll be responsible for maintaining optimising and supporting SQL and Oracle databases that underpin key applications and services.Job Description
Youllwork in a collaborative operations environment where flexibility technicalexpertiseand problem-solving are highly valued.
Ideallyyoullbe based in Canberra but we can consider experienced DBAs to be based in Sydney also.
Theres workplace flexibility in this role; you can WFH on-site or a mixture of both depending on what suits you and your commitments. A minimum Active NV1 clearance isessentialto be considered for this roleand you must be able toparticipatein an on-call roster approximately one in every ten weeks.

Whatyoulldo
Manage andmaintainSQL and Oracle database environments
Perform database patchingupgradesand ongoing optimisation
Diagnose and resolve performance and availability issues (e.g. slow performance capacity constraints infrastructure impacts)
Support incident response faultdiagnosisand service restoration activities
Collaborate with infrastructure teams to resolve cross-platform issues
About you
Candidates must hold an activecurrent Defence clearance to be considered (Minimum NV1).
Proven experience working as aDatabase Administrator (DBA)
Strong technicalexpertiseacross SQL and Oracle databases
Experience performing database patchingupgradesand troubleshooting
Confident working in operational environments including incident response
Highly competent hands-on technical capability (depth of skill more important than years of experience)
