Job Summary
About the Opportunity
As the Data Performance Analyst for Austal Defence Australia (ADA) youll be responsible for developing data models identifying reporting pain points and automating reporting processes.
You will support the operational effectiveness of the Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement (SSA) particularly within the LCH (Landing Craft Heavy) program by driving efficiencies reducing manual effort and improving data quality and process flows.
This role contributes to building the SSA business architecture through analysis of current data structures data modelling and process mapping. You will identify improvement opportunities and deliver practical data-driven solutions.
You will also support the Performance Measurement Process and assist the LCH team in meeting contractual obligations including CSR submissions.

Whats Involved
- Develop and optimise data models by analysing business systems mapping data flows and structuring data to support business needs
- Design and enhance reporting solutions (Power BI Tableau etc.) including automating manual processes and improving existing models
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements develop process maps and support contractual reporting
- Support Contract Status Reviews and performance measurement activities aligned to SSA requirements
- Conduct business and performance reviews identifying trends risks and opportunities and partnering with leaders to drive improvements
- Support business readiness transition and continuous improvement by ensuring solutions are effectively implemented and embedded
Youll Need
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Analysis Data Analytics or a related discipline and/or equivalent experience
- Experience with Power BI Tableau or similar BI tools
- Strong Excel capability including Power Query
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Visio Project Word)
- Experience in process improvement and/or automation
- Understanding of project management principles and delivery approaches
- Exposure to enterprise systems such as JIRA Azure DevOps IFS SAP Oracle or similar
- Working knowledge of SQL M Language or other data transformation tools
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
