Salary: Service NSW Grade 5 -$93490 - $98252pro-rata plus employers contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Location: Batemans Bay Service Centre Duration & Employment Status: Temporary Full-Time till the 1st of September 2027 We are currently recruiting for the positions of Customer Service Representative-Driver Testers at our Batemans Bay Service Centre however you may be as per business needs to travel to spoke sites Moruya Service Centre and Narooma Service Centre Please note: This recruitment will be used to fill this specific role and create a talent pool for this specific location. Service NSW Service NSW is seeking customer-focused professionals who enjoy working with people making sound decisions and thriving in a dynamic environment. As a Customer Service Representative Driver Tester youll play a vital role in helping customers achieve an important milestone while ensuring NSWs road safety standards are maintained. Essential Requirements Have held an unrestricted Australian driver licence for the preceding three years (excluding a provisional or learners licence) A satisfactory driving record. Your traffic record will be verified during the recruitment process. Ability to proficiently drive a manual vehicle. You will be required to pass a 90 question Driver Knowledge Test and supply a manual vehicle to complete a Manual Practical Driving Test. About the Role Working from a Service Centre youll conduct practical driver licence tests guide customers through the testing process and provide clear professional feedback. Youll engage with people from diverse backgrounds support a positive customer experience and make objective decisions based on established road safety standards. No two days are the same. Youll balance customer interactions assessment responsibilities and administrative tasks while working as part of a supportive team committed to excellence. What Youll Be Doing Conduct practical driving assessments for licence applicants Deliver professional respectful and consistent customer service Clearly explain test outcomes including strengths and improvement areas Assess driving performance against set standards and legislative requirements Build rapport with customers from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds Manage challenging conversations with empathy and professionalism Complete accurate records and administrative documentation Contribute to continuous improvement and team success Promote road safety and support positive community outcomes What Were Looking For Have a strong customer service background Are confident communicating with a diverse range of customers Remain calm and composed in difficult or high-pressure situations Can make fair objective and defensible decisions Have excellent attention to detail Demonstrate sound judgement and personal accountability Are comfortable using technology and administrative systems Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team Are committed to safety integrity and public service What we need from you Attach an up-to-date cover letter and resume that shows your experience and skills for the position. The Service NSW Award hours are 6:30am 7:30pm (Monday to Friday) and 7:30am - 3:30pm (Saturdays). In some situations you may be required to work during these hours.
Flexibility is to work on a rotating roster between the Service Centres operational hours which may include Saturdays. We will gather your preferences during the recruitment process. Hours are also subject to change based on the needs of the business.
