Crew Leader (Leading Hand) – Civil & Utilities

About the role

Were looking for an experienced Crew Leader / Leading Hand to join our Canberra team delivering underground utility and civil infrastructure projects across the ACT.

This is a hands-on leadership role where youll work alongside a crew of 34 guiding day-to-day activities on site. Youll play a key role in coordinating works supporting your team and ensuring projects are delivered safely efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities include

• Lead and coordinate crews on civil trenching and pipe laying works
• Work alongside the team on excavation installation and reinstatement
• Plan daily activities and ensure crews are set up for success
• Ensure all work meets safety quality and compliance requirements
• Liaise with field teams schedulers and contractors on site
• Mentor and support team members to build capability

Roster: Monday to Friday with ad-hoc weekend work as required.

About You

• Proven experience in civil construction pipelaying or utilities
• Experience leading or guiding crews (formal or informal leadership)
• Strong understanding of trenching excavation and underground works
• Current HR licence (required)
• Relevant tickets: White Card Traffic Management Asbestos Awareness
• A strong safety focus and ability to lead by example on site
