Counsellor
Job Summary
As a Counsellor (Health and Wellness Advisor) youll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team that lives our values of Integrity Compassion Determination and Thriving Together.
You will bring clinical expertise empathy and practical problem-solving skills to help clients overcome personal psychosocial and mental health challenges that may be impacting their ability to find or sustain employment. Your work will contribute to improved wellbeing resilience and long-term independence for clients across the community.
In This Role You Will:
- Conduct assessments to identify barriers strengths and support needs
- Provide evidence-based counselling and brief therapeutic interventions including CBT-informed approaches strengths-based practice solution-focused therapy and motivational interviewing
- Deliver psychoeducation and practical strategies to support mental health wellbeing and resilience
- Support clients to sustain employment and navigate workplace challenges
- Develop tailored wellbeing plans aligned to individual goals
- Liaise with medical practitioners community organisations and other support services
- Work closely with Job Coaches and internal stakeholders to support client outcomes
- Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in line with quality and compliance standards
- Contribute to wellbeing education training and capability-building initiatives for staff and employers
Qualifications :
You will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Counselling Psychology Social Work Mental Health or a related discipline.
- Membership registration or accreditation with an appropriate professional body (e.g. ACA PACFA AHPRA AASW) is highly regarded
- Experience providing counselling and support to individuals with diverse needs and complex presentations
- Strong assessment intervention and case management skills
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and client-centred care
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong organisational and record-keeping abilities
- A current Australian drivers licence
