Corporate Accountant

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Corporate Accountant with high attention to detail resilient under pressure with the ability to operate effectively within a culturally diverse work position is based in Perth Australia.

Working as part of the Accounting and Finance team the successful candidate will contribute to a broad range of corporate accounting reporting compliance and continuous improvement activities.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Financial Reporting

Assist with the preparation of monthly statutory and management accounts utilising SAP accounting software and Microsoft Excel before loading results into OneStream software including P&L balance sheet and statistical financial data.

Contribute to the preparation of consolidated statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS principles.

Prepare and process monthly journals ensuring high levels of accuracy and supporting the preparation of monthly reconciliations.

Monitoring Compliance & Analysis

Support internal and external audits by liaising with relevant stakeholders and collating information and documentation required by auditors.

Contribute to compliance with company and legislative accounting and reporting requirements.

Support the ongoing integrity of the OneStream accounting and SAP financial reporting systems.

Continuous Improvement

Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the Accounting and Finance team.

Support the compliance review and development of accounting policies and procedures.

Identify and put forward ideas to improve processes and procedures including through the use of Copilot.

Taxation

Support the preparation of tax calculations and compliance with statutory taxation obligations including direct and indirect taxation GST FBT withholding tax transfer pricing and cross-border taxation.

Contribute to compliance with company tax governance policy and local legislation.

Qualification& Experience:

Essential criteria:

Tertiary qualification in Accounting Finance Economicsor related field

CA/CPA member or in progress to complete

7 years of professional industry experiencein a similar role with excellentExcel skills

Demonstrable capacity to work independently and collaboratively;

Demonstrable ability to deliver to tight deadlines while maintaining a high quality of work.
