The Opportunity
As a Copywriter within Monash Universitys Content Lab you will create clear effective and channel-appropriate copy that connects with audiences and supports key priorities across the University.
You will work across a mix of formats from short-form digital copy to longer-form storytelling with a focus on content that is designed for digital channels audience relevance and ongoing optimisation.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys turning strategy into content that is useful engaging and built to perform. You will work in an always-on environment where content is planned created and refined continuously rather than delivered as one-off outputs.
You will write across social web email SMS and emerging channels producing work that is engaging measurable and fit for platform.
Working closely with the Senior Editorial Content Specialist you will help shape and deliver content that aligns to editorial direction and audience needs. You will also collaborate with a content strategist videographers and content coordinators to bring campaigns and content to life across channels.
You are comfortable working at pace responding to priorities as they evolve and getting content live without over-polishing.
You understand how audiences search across platforms including social and AI tools and consider how your content is found not just how it is written.
You will also use AI tools to support personalised and scalable copy creating variations efficiently while maintaining clarity tone and brand alignment.
About You
You know how to write content that is clear relevant and fit for different audiences channels and formats. You are comfortable moving between short-form digital copy and longer-form storytelling and you know how to make content useful and engaging.
You are able to take complex or internally driven priorities and turn them into content that is clear useful and relevant to the people its intended for.
You understand how people search for information and make decisions and can write content that is structured to be found and useful in those moments.
You enjoy working in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and content needs to be delivered at pace. You are practical proactive and focused on getting work out into the world then improving it over time.
You understand that effective content is shaped by audience behaviour and performance not just instinct. You are comfortable using data and feedback to refine your work and improve results.
You have a sharp eye for detail and take responsibility for reviewing and refining your own work before it goes live.
You are comfortable writing in a way that feels natural relevant and native to the platforms it appears in rather than overly formal or institutional.
You are open to new ways of working and comfortable using tools including AI to support how you create and scale content.
Selection Criteria
Proven experience writing effective digital copy across multiple channels including social email and web
Demonstrated ability to write across formats from short-form digital content to longer-form storytelling
Strong ability to tailor tone structure and messaging for different audiences and platforms
High attention to detail with the ability to review and refine your own work for accuracy and quality
Understanding of how content is discovered across search social and AI platforms and the ability to apply this to writing
Ability to manage workload meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of brand voice and the ability to apply it consistently across content
