Located 20km west of Sydney on Dharug country with a population of over 245000 residents Cumberland City Council is the fourth most populous Local Government Area in Greater Sydney. Councils Finance team sits within the Corporate Performance Directorate and provides expert leadership and guidance to the organisation in all aspects of Councils finances and end to end financial processes across the organisation including payroll accounts payable and receivable rates valuations revenue recovery and financial analytics.
We have an opportunity for a dynamic Coordinator Finance responsible for leading Councils financial analytics function providing highquality insights modelling and performance reporting to support strategic and operational decisionmaking as well as leading the daytoday financial processing functions of Council.
The successful applicant will require:
- Degree qualifications in accounting commerce business or finance
- Supervisory experience in a multi-disciplinary multicultural workplace
- Demonstrated experience in financial analytics business performance reporting or financial modelling
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team
- Highlevel communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation relevant to NSW local government
- Experience in Preparation Annual Budgets and Long-Term Financial Plans
- Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and internal control frameworks
- Experience leading and developing staff
- High level analytical problem solving and organisational skills
- Proficiency in financial management systems and advanced Excel skills
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation relevant to NSW local government and to the Financeteam

About this role:
- Permanent full-time position
- 70 hour fortnight/week
- Access to Councils 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement
- Located at Councils Merrylands with occasional across Council worksites and may be required to work across any of Councils work locations
Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 15 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $2504.35 to $2880.00 per week plus 12% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated taking into consideration the successful applicants qualifications skills and experience related to the role
