Job Summary

About The Role:

This is where analytics strategy and spatial intelligence come together. Youll lead a multi-skilled team that turns data location and technology into actionable intelligence that helps Council make better decisions invest wisely and deliver better outcomes for our community.

You will shape how Council uses data analytics and spatial intelligence to understand performance plan investment understand our City engage with our community and improve how we work - using the simplest fit-for-purpose tools and progressively building capability across dashboards GIS StoryMaps automation AI and emerging data-platform capability.

The opportunity ranges from enterprise performance and capital investment intelligence through to place-based analytics field-service optimisation digital community engagement and emerging 3D spatial capability.

Most importantly you will lead: setting direction developing people prioritising effort and working across Council to make sure we focus on the problems and opportunities that create the most value.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a high-performing team.
  • Strategic thinker who can see the bigger picture and turn complex problems into clear priorities and actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical capability across spatial operational asset financial or organisational data.
  • Excellent stakeholder leadership skills with the confidence to challenge assumptions and influence across functions.
  • Experience establishing roadmaps priorities and analytical products that support better decisions and measurable outcomes.
  • Broad technical literacy across dashboards/business intelligence spatial/GIS and data environments with sound judgement about selecting simple fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Relevant qualification or equivalent senior professional experience in analytics spatial intelligence strategy planning infrastructure information systems or a related field.
  • Experience lifting capability in a technical or analytical team through coaching clear standards cross-skilling shared ownership and continuous improvement.

Performance Business Intelligence and Improvement helps Council plan prioritise deliver and understand performance. Our Spatial Intelligence and Analytics capability connects data place assets services and community needs to help answer four simple questions: what is happening where is it happening why does it matter and what should we do next

The Detail:

The position is offered on a full-time permanent basis and is classified at Level 8 with a salary range of $139117 to $148318 per annum Super Annual Leave Loading.
