Contracts Specialist 12 month contract

Our client has an opportunity is for an experienced Contracts Specialist to join the Electrical Instrumentation and Communications (EIC) category team. The role is based in Perth and is offered as an initial 12-month assignment working 40 hours per week with flexible working arrangements including work-from-home days. Some site travel will also be required as part of supporting project delivery and stakeholder engagement across operational assets.

The position focuses on managing complex construction procurement and commercial contract activities across a diverse EIC portfolio including high voltage powerline relocations substations and long lead procurement packages. Working closely with project delivery engineering legal and procurement stakeholders the successful candidate will lead sourcing and tendering activities.

The role involves developing procurement strategies managing contract negotiations preparing recommendations to award drafting Statements of Work and overseeing contract implementation across construction consultancy and supply agreements. There is also a strong emphasis on commercial risk management claims management dispute resolution and supplier relationship management to ensure positive contractual and project outcomes.

What are we looking for

The successful candidate will bring proven experience within mining infrastructure construction or major capital project environments along with strong negotiation stakeholder engagement and commercial management skills. A solid understanding of contract law tendering processes and construction contracting is essential as well as the ability to manage competing priorities and build strong working relationships across multiple business functions.
