About the Role
As the Contract Manager for our Medical & Hospital Substitute Network youll play a critical role in shaping and managing HBFs provider network. This role is responsible for endtoend medical and hospital substitute provider contracting provider negotiations relationship management operational oversight and network performance. Youll balance strong commercial outcomes with highquality provider experiences regulatory compliance and sustainable healthcare delivery.
In this role you will:
Lead the negotiation execution and ongoing management of contracts with medical specialists diagnostic providers and hospital substitute providers
Oversee the full provider contract lifecycle including renewals pricing reviews variations and terminations
Build and maintain trusted relationships with key provider stakeholders acting as an escalation point where required
Oversee provider onboarding ensuring accurate setup data integrity and strong service outcomes
Ensure compliance with legislative regulatory and MBS requirements including oversight of mandatory data submissions
Represent the provider contracting function in crossfunctional projects contributing subject matter expertise and driving continuous improvement
Drive continuous improvement through data analysis process enhancement and operational insights
This position is open to candidates based in Perth or Melbourne and is being offered on a permanent full-time basis.
About You
Youre an experienced healthcare or insurance professional with a strong background in provider contracting and operational leadership. You bring a commercial mindset excellent judgement and the ability to balance complex stakeholder relationships with governance compliance and service outcomes. Comfortable working in a fastpaced and highly regulated environment youre known for your collaborative leadership style and ability to drive meaningful improvements.
Ideally you will have:
Strong experience in medical or hospital provider contracting provider network management or a similar health/insurance environment
Demonstrated experience in commercial negotiations and contract management
Strong understanding of private health insurance operations regulatory requirements and MBS frameworks
Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills including experience engaging with medical providers and senior internal partners
Strong analytical and problemsolving capability using data to inform decisions and improve processes
A continuous improvement mindset with experience contributing to system workflow or operational enhancements
