Impact Care Solutions is establishing a dedicatedComplex Care Teamto support children and young people with some of the most complex combinations of disability trauma mental health needs and behaviours of concern.

This isnota standard Therapeutic Youth Worker position.

This is a specialistSCHADS Level 4role for experienced practitioners who have developed advanced capability across both therapeutic residential care and disability support.

Our Complex Care Specialists support children and young people whose needs often include multiple interacting challenges such as:

  • Significant disability
  • High personal care needs
  • Autism and intellectual disability
  • Trauma and attachment difficulties
  • Mental health presentations
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Behaviours of concern
  • Self-harm or suicide risk
  • Communication and sensory support needs

These referrals require practitioners with advanced skills sound judgement and the confidence to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

This is why the role is classified atSCHADS Level 4.

About the role

Working as part of our specialist Complex Care team you will:

  • Build safe therapeutic and trusting relationships with children and young people.
  • Deliver high-quality therapeutic and disability support tailored to individual needs.
  • Provide personal care including showering toileting continence care dressing mobility support and medication assistance.
  • Implement Behaviour Support Plans Individual Support Plans and Risk Management Plans.
  • Respond safely and therapeutically during behavioural escalation and crisis situations.
  • Support education community participation appointments communication and daily living skills.
  • Work collaboratively with Behaviour Support Practitioners allied health professionals and House Coordinators.
  • Complete professional documentation including shift notes behavioural observations and incident reports.
  • Model high standards of practice and contribute positively to your team.
  • Participate in a rotating roster including day afternoon weekend awake and sleepover shifts.
This role is probably for you if
  • You have at least two years experience supporting children or young people with complex disability trauma or behaviours of concern.
  • You remain calm and make sound decisions in challenging situations.
  • Youre confident providing high-level personal care while maintaining dignity and respect.
  • You understand trauma-informed practice and Positive Behaviour Support.
  • You communicate professionally and produce high-quality documentation.
  • Colleagues naturally look to you for guidance during complex situations.
  • Youre committed to continually developing your professional practice.
Qualifications

Were looking for applicants with a Certificate IV or higher in:

  • Disability
  • Community Services
  • Child Youth & Family Intervention
  • Youth Work
  • Mental Health
  • Nursing or another relevant discipline

Equivalent experience supporting children and young people with complex needs will also be considered.

Essential requirements
  • Current NSW Working With Children Check.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Willingness to complete police and probity checks.
  • Australian working rights.
