Are you organised community-minded and passionate about supporting Aboriginal-led decision-making The Northern Land Council (NLC) is seeking a Community Planning & Development Project Support Officer to help deliver projects that make a real difference across the Top End.

About the Role:

The Community Planning and Development team works with Traditional Owners and native title groups on projects chosen by Aboriginal groups and communities.

As the Project Support Officer you will provide practical and administrative support to the team. You will help organise meetings prepare meeting papers record decisions process invoices and arrange travel and other project activities.

You will also help Project Officers provide clear information to Traditional Owners so they can understand their options and make informed decisions about projects that matter to them.

Your work will include:

  • Organising community meetings and consultations.
  • Preparing meeting notices agendas minutes and project records.
  • Recording community discussions and decisions accurately.
  • Helping to arrange travel accommodation venues and other meeting needs.
  • Processing invoices and completing administrative tasks.
  • Collecting information to help review the progress of community projects; and supporting respectful communication between Traditional Owners NLC staff and other organisations.

The position involves regular travel to remote communities including travel by light aircraft and driving a manual four-wheel-drive vehicle.

What You Will Bring:

We are looking for an organised and respectful person who communicates well and enjoys helping communities and project teams get things done.

You will need:

  • A Certificate IV in business project management community development or a related area or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least one years experience in administration project support community development or a similar role.
  • Experience preparing agendas minutes meeting papers and other clear written documents.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office 365 and electronic recordkeeping systems.
  • The ability to work respectfully with Traditional Owners community members colleagues and other organisations.
  • A current C Class Driver Licence and willingness to travel remotely and drive a manual four-wheel-drive vehicle.

We offer:

  • A base salary of $71608 per annum plus 15% superannuation and salary sacrificing up to $15900 Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefit up to $2650 per year.
  • Other benefits under our Enterprise Agreement include:
    • District allowance of up to$4884 (DA2) per annum for individuals with dependents and $2678 (DA1) without dependents.
    • Generous leave provisions5 weeks annual leave 18 days personal leave;
    • Paid Christmas close down;
    • Upon completion of 12 months of service anAnnual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $3177;
