Community Housing Limited is seeking a NSW Community Development Manager to lead the delivery of community development programs across New South Wales. This senior role will develop and sustain strong socially diverse communities by fostering community-building initiatives that improve the health wellbeing and sense of belonging of people experiencing disadvantage.
This is a full-time permanent role based in our Port Macquarie NSW Office. The position offers a competitive salary salary packaging flexible working options and access to a company car lease.
What youll do
In this role youll work within the State Management Team to lead community development activities in line with CHLs Community Development Framework. Youll support staff to embed community engagement into service delivery create projects from community ideas and build partnerships that enable community-owned outcomes. Youll also manage community development projects budgets and reporting while supporting the Community Development team to deliver meaningful impact.
Youll make an impact by:
Leading the delivery of CHLs community development strategy across New South Wales.
Supporting staff to ensure community engagement and community development are embedded in service delivery.
Engaging closely with diverse communities including Aboriginal communities and developing projects from community ideas with a strong focus on community ownership.
Leading mentoring managing and supporting Community Development team members across the state.
Writing proposals project briefs business plans grant applications and reports in collaboration with community members and partners.
Managing community development projects and budgets including sourcing partnerships and financial contributions.
Driving shared design and delivery approaches that strengthen customer and community outcomes.
Providing community development advice for tenders new projects and implementation activities.
Establishing and maintaining partnerships with government agencies community organisations research bodies and private sector businesses.
Promoting CHLs Community Development Framework and sharing initiatives outcomes and learning across the organisation.
What Youll Bring
At least five years experience in the strategic development and implementation of community development programs.
Experience in program design development and coordination with knowledge of the social enterprise sector.
Demonstrated experience working respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal communities with an understanding of culturally safe engagement and community-led development approaches (highly desirable).
Demonstrated experience leading and managing staff including remotely based team members.
A strong track record of establishing and developing strategic partnerships with external organisations.
Experience preparing proposals project briefs business plans grant applications and reports.
Strong community engagement stakeholder management communication planning and reporting skills.
A commitment to the right of every person to good quality housing connection and a sense of belonging.
A current Driver Licence.
