Communications Coordinator Internal
Job Summary
Join us as a Communications Coordinator Internal and help shape how we connect inform and engage staff across the University. Working with stakeholders from across the organisation youll coordinate and deliver communication initiatives that support key priorities strengthen engagement and enhance the employee experience.
From writing impactful stories and creating multimedia content to managing digital communication channels and supporting major initiatives youll play a key role in ensuring staff receive clear relevant and engaging communications. This is an excellent opportunity for a communications professional who enjoys variety collaboration and meaningful work.
In this role you will:
- Develop and implement communications plans to help people work smarter create connection influence behaviours and enhance the Universitys reputation.
- Assist in communication planning and coordinate activities with stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver staff communications including intranet news enewsletters allstaff emails Staff Forums and other materials as required.
- Work with teams to create design and edit written photo and video content.
- Ensure staff communication channels are up-to-date relevant and user friendly.
- Analyse report on and monitor the success of communications.
- Work as part of interdisciplinary project teams on key initiatives to support unit business plans.
- Encourage and promote a culture that embraces change collaboration engagement customer service communication continuous improvement and accountability.
This Full-time Fixed-term for 12 months is at a HEW 6 and located at Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).
You will have:
- A degree with/or at least 2-3 years experience in communications; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated success planning executing and evaluating communication strategies in a large institution
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including the capacity to build successful relationships.
- Experience developing and maintaining internal communication channels to best practice.
- Ability to work in a high-volume environment and manage competing priorities and stakeholder demands.
- Knowledge of and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety equity diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture.

- Highly developed written verbal and interpersonal communication skills with proven ability to collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to plan create and deliver engaging communications across multiple channels and formats including digital written photographic and video content.
- Demonstrated experience managing and improving internal communication channels including intranet and email platforms (preferably Microsoft 365 and SharePoint) with the ability to monitor analyse and report on communication effectiveness and user engagement.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment while contributing effectively within cross-functional teams. Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety equity diversity and inclusion continuous improvement and fostering a respectful collaborative workplace culture.
