Our Toorak Campus (approximately 320 students) is in Melbourne. It caters to day students from Early Learning to Year Toorak campus has approximately 50 full-time and part-time teaching and support Toorak every member of our community is valued respected and committed to providing our students with the highest quality teaching and learning programmes designed to improve student outcomes including levels of achievement and wellbeing. Students at the Toorak Campus study the Primary Years Programme (PYP) which is part of the International Baccalaureate (IB). Teaching and learning approaches are based on the philosophies of Reggio Emilia and the PYP framework and standards and practices. Teaching staff work collaboratively in professional learning teams to support their development and the learning of students in their care. Our contemporary learning spaces promote team teaching positive relationships creativity and differentiated learning experiences.

Seeking Casual OSHC Assistants and/or ELC Co-Educators.

What you will be doing

  • Provide a nurturing interesting and stimulating learning environment which caters for the needs of all children within the group.

  • Plan with the ELC team to develop implement and evaluate the Early Learning Centre Curriculum with an ongoing commitment to professional development activities.

  • Assist with the supervision of the daily programme and attend to the health and safety of children in the ELC including administering First Aid where necessary.

  • Set up and pack away equipment share observations with teaching colleagues provide proactive supervision and ensure all legally required documents are accurate complete and maintained daily.

  • Work as a co-operative member of the ELC team maintain harmonious working relationships attend relevant meetings and events and maintain student staff and parent confidentiality.

  • Reflect and uphold the values of the School at all times contribute to the co-curricular programme and take an active role in the general life of the School.

What we are looking

  • An ACECQA approved Diploma or Bachelor qualification specialising in Early Childhood Education Current Victorian Working With Children Check - Employment (WWC) and a current National Police Check or current VIT Registration (which includes a National Police Check).

  • It is a condition of employment that Early Childhood Co-Educators must possess First Aid qualifications and have current Anaphylaxis Management Accreditation in accordance with the new Ministerial Order 706 and the Schools Anaphylaxis Management Policy (2020). Information regarding First Aid and Anaphylaxis Management Accreditation requirements training courses and compulsory briefings scheduled by the School are provided by the Head of Campus.

  • Certificate of completion of the National Child Safety Training

  • Knowledge of current teaching practice and theory in particular the Primary Years Programme The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia and the Principles of Reggio Emilia is an advantage.

  • Proven ability to work within a team.

  • The ability to create a vibrant and exciting learning environment.

  • Excellent communication with teaching colleagues.

  • High-quality curriculum work with teaching colleagues.

  • Demonstrate an ability to care for children and to cater for the individual needs and develop the potential of each child.
