CNC Machine Setter
Job Summary
An opportunity is available for an experienced CNC Machine Setter to join an established advanced manufacturing business in Adelaide.
This role will suit a trade-qualified machinist or experienced CNC professional who takes pride in producing high-quality components enjoys solving manufacturing challenges and has an interest in developing the next generation of operators and apprentices.
You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery and ensuring components are manufactured safely efficiently and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Set up and operate CNC machinery to manufacture precision components.
Ensure first-off components meet drawing and specification requirements.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and diagrams.
Use calibrated measuring equipment to inspect and record component dimensions.
Monitor operators to ensure manufacturing instructions and processes are followed.
Ensure tooling is correctly maintained and tooling sheets are followed.
Monitor machine performance and accurately record downtime.
Complete routine machine maintenance and assist with troubleshooting.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
Support the training and development of CNC operators and apprentices.
Maintain high standards of quality safety and housekeeping.
Trade-qualified machinist or currently undertaking recognised trade training.
Previous CNC machine setting and operating experience.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Confident using calibrated measuring equipment.
Understanding of quality standards and manufacturing requirements.
Experience within the defence or advanced manufacturing sector will be highly regarded.
Strong communication skills and the ability to train and support others.
