About the opportunity

The newly created Clinical Services Operations Lead role is responsible for the end-to-end operational leadership coordination and performance of the Clinical Services function within the Health & Recovery Division. The role provides strategic and operational oversight of clinical review programs panel management administrative services systems and processes to ensure the high-quality timely and efficient delivery of clinical services that support injured workers with complex needs.

The role leads and manages a team of Clinical Services Officers and Coordinators providing leadership coaching and operational governance across clinical panel activities including MD IME Surgery Advisory Panel Addiction Medicine Services and health reviews. Acting as the primary operational interface between Clinical Services internal WorkSafe stakeholders agents clinicians and external providers the Clinical Services Operations Lead partners closely with the Clinical Manager and Health & Recovery leadership to translate strategy into operational delivery drive continuous improvement and mobilise resources to support organisational priorities scheme performance and emerging issues.

Key accountabilities

• Provide operational leadership and day-to-day management of the Clinical Services Operations team including workload planning performance management coaching and capability development.
• Act as the central operational escalation point for Clinical Services resolving complex operational issues and risks and escalating to the Clinical Manager as required.
• Oversee the coordination and delivery of clinical panel activities including MD IME Surgery Advisory Panel Addiction Medicine Services and allied health clinical panels ensuring alignment with policy standards timeframes and budgets.
• Provide oversight of the recruitment onboarding scheduling and contract management of clinical panel members to ensure panel capability capacity and performance.
• Ensure effective end-to-end operational management of clinical review processes including allocation and scheduling coordination of clinical reviews monitoring of timeliness and quality and oversight of invoicing and financial controls.
• Lead the development implementation and continuous improvement of systems tools workflows and processes that support effective and efficient Clinical Services operations.
• Occasional travel to WorkSafe Victoria head office in Geelong is required.

About you

You are an experienced operational leader with a strong track record of managing high-performing teams in complex clinical healthcare insurance or public sector environments. You bring a deep understanding of service delivery operations and have successfully led large-scale administrative and operational functions ensuring quality outcomes efficiency and exceptional stakeholder experiences.

A confident people leader you are skilled in developing motivating and coaching teams to achieve their best. You have demonstrated experience managing performance building capability and fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement.

You thrive in complex stakeholder environments and are adept at navigating competing priorities managing sensitive issues and resolving complaints and escalations with professionalism and sound judgement. Your ability to build trusted relationships allows you to effectively influence outcomes and drive positive results across diverse groups. Further you will also possess:

• Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Word Excel PowerPoint TRIM and email; experience with Novus and ACCtion applications desirable
• Tertiary qualification in health business administration management or a related field or equivalent demonstrated experience
