Description

Your new role sits within a growing team with international presence. Global Tax Operations primary responsibility is to maximize clients investments by either facilitating effective tax relief at source on client investment income or retrospectively reclaiming taxes from global tax authorities. This is a high-risk product with diverse market procedures a significant change agenda and complex market/regulatory requirements.

As a Client Tax Operations Utility Analyst within the Tax Client Support team you will be tasked with providing support to clients regarding their Tax Services. Your role will involve managing tax document capture and assisting clients with their Tax Services. Being a part of a small newly established team you will support multiple clients in the Australia and New Zealand region collaborating closely with the Asia Pacific (APAC) Tax Operations team the Global Tax Operations team and other stakeholders.

Job responsibilities

  • Deliver the Tax Service to support Australia and New Zealand Securities Services Custody business
  • Act as the primary point of contact for tax documentation receipt to support our clients tax servicing needs
  • Manage tax documentation and control including: onward distribution to internal teams of documents to ensure the efficient set-up within internal systems and document capture and upload
  • Support on outstanding/expiring tax documentation including for Relief at Source Retrospective Reclaims Capital Gains Tax Financial Transaction Tax Tax Regulatory Reporting
  • Act as a point of contact with the local Tax Offices in Australia and New Zealand
  • Ensure close collaboration with the Sub Custodian network and the internal Network Management Group
  • Review operational tax processes to identify areas for enhancement continuously
  • Identify and escalate tax risks and participate in resolution
  • Assist with report generation of tax document status

Required qualifications capabilities and skills

  • Experience working in financial sectors accounting firms or other professional institutions
  • Successful internal and external communication and problem-solving experience
  • Risk awareness and operational control experience
  • Process improvement experience where you clearly articulate ideas concepts and procedural changes to clients
  • Self-driven and the ability to work autonomously
  • Proven experience within an arena where accuracy is critical within strict deadlines

Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills

  • Understanding of custodian business or have tax background
  • Effective data management skills and desire to understand tax documentation systems
