Your Team


Clearing Operations sits within ASX Market operations function and plays a critical role in supporting the integrity efficiency and resilience of ASXs clearing services. The team is responsible for the day-to-day execution of clearing services across ASX products working with internal and external stakeholders to manage operational risk support service delivery and ensure clearing processes are completed accurately and effectively.


Your responsibilities


  • Contribute to the launch and ongoing operation of the Bond and Repo Clearing service whilst helping drive operational excellence risk management and process improvement.
  • Operate and train junior members on ASXs clearing and settlement systems including Calypso Genium DCS/MCM Austraclear and ASX collateral management systems.
  • Represent Clearing Operations at internal stakeholder meetings
  • Ensure all daily operational tasks are completed accurately following all procedures and checklists
  • Escalate operational incidents to management ensure resulting actions are followed within the team
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce operational risk enhance the customer experience and develop technical change
  • Embed new processes in the team as required from management
  • Ensure all processes and procedures are up to date and accurate
  • Engage and service a diverse range of stakeholders inclusive of clearing participants vendors treasury counterparties and ASX regulators
  • Manage stakeholder queries ensuring alignment with the ASX policies

Your experience and qualifications

Must have


  • 5 years Experience in a clearing settlement treasury operations custody securities services or financial markets operations environment.
  • Experience with Fixed Income settlement including SWIFT messaging integration & reporting.
  • Understanding of Fixed Income Products (Outright Bond and Repo) including Post Trade processes and Bond & Repo product life cycle events.
  • Experience with SWIFT integration and Austraclear settlement processes.
  • Strong understanding of margining frameworks and cash settlement processes across cleared products.
  • Analytical experience involving the investigation of issues and problems identifying and documenting their solutions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of exchange-traded and cleared OTC derivatives with a strong understanding of product lifecycles from trade capture through to expiry and settlement.
  • Streamlined processes and tasks to reduce operational risk and increase efficiency

Nice to have


  • Experience with Calypso or similar market infrastructure platforms
  • Knowledge of Collateral Management margining and settlement operations.
  • SQL and advanced Excel knowledge
  • Ability to work effectively on major projects
